Four Ways to Support Small Businesses
If you landed on this page, you are probably aware of the immense positive impacts that shopping small has on local communities. Small businesses like ours rely on you for support (especially during the pandemic). We are so grateful for consumers like you!
By shopping small you are:
- Supporting local economic stimulus (we value sourcing from other local companies and talent)
- Investing in local entrepreneurship (did you know our employees are Colorado Natives?)
- Maintaining your community’s authentic character
- Giving power to local consumer choices (we listen to consumer’s desires and cater to local markets)
- Bolstering your community's self-sufficiency
- Local shops give back to community efforts (we donate baby goods to Britany's Baskets of Hope, an amazing local organization that provides resources to families of new babies with Down Syndrome)
Since the pandemic hit and local markets were cancelled, Urban Baby Co., pivoted and focused on our online storefront. We’ve learned so much along the way, and most importantly we discovered how critical your support is to our business.
4 Ways to Support Small Shops:
1. Get Social
- Post photos of your purchases to your social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and even community platforms like Nextdoor (don’t forget to tag @urbanbabyco on Instagram and Facebook!)
- Engage with your local shops Instagram and Facebook posts (we love your comments and your “likes”)
- Sign up for newsletters (we share the love back with exclusive discounts! Sign up now!)
2. Talk about us
- Tell your friends and family about our brand
- Write reviews
3. Buy Local (in-person or online)
- Before you purchase an item from large corporations, make sure you double check to see if a small company has what you need
- Shopping local doesn't always mean you need to shop within your neighborhood’s radius - so many local shops across the nation offer online storefronts
4. Offer Skills
- Share your talent or recommend a friend (we are always looking for local creative illustrators to collab with)
